Style from A to Z

A is for Asymmetry
This fall, it’s all about taking sides. From one-shoulder tops to uneven hems, asymmetrical pieces are all the rage. Dress up for date night by baring a shoulder, or mix up a work ensemble by wearing a diagonally buttoned cardigan. This season’s innovative closet is yours to experiment with, and there’s no holding back!

B is for Baubles
The bigger, the bolder, the better! It’s time to forget the notion that big jewelry is only for prom. Break the rule and pile ‘em on—your gems will help you stand out in a crowd. Dress up casual basics with statement necklaces and rings to transform your look to chic.

C is for Cut-Outs
Cut, copy and paste are no longer terms restricted to keyboard functions. You can apply the method to dresses, bags, shoes and stockings. In other words, from fancy labels to designer-inspired pieces, it’ll be way too easy to add cut-outs to your fall wardrobe.

D is for Disco
Okay, so we can’t remember the last time anybody actually went to a disco, but who really needs an excuse to overload on sequins? If you’re planning to attend a special event and need to shine, this is your go-to style for keeping the limelight on you. You’ll be ready to hit the dance floor in no time!

E is for Eighties Revival
Nostalgic fashion doesn’t stop with the disco dresses. You’ll also see neon leggings, boyfriend jackets and leather pants this fall—the ‘80s revival is sexier than ever! If leather pants are intimidating and seem a little stifling, ease into the trend with liquid leggings or acid wash jeans.

F is for Feathers and Fringe
Feathers, fringe and funky accessories are dressing up simple outfits this season—it’s all about being over-the-top. If you’re more subdued, try wearing a peacock-inspired feather headband to add a colorful tinge of color. If you’re daring, try a feather-y dress for your next night out.

G is for Glamorous Gloves
Keep our hands warm with sophistication and glamour by sporting longer gloves. The longer, the better! Try more lux material for a more chic embellishment. Whether its leather, velvet, suede or knit, get your hands in a pair!

H is for High Heels
We’re reaching for the sky this season... with fierce platforms. Of course, heels are in every year, and this is no exception. Reserve a spot on your shoe rack for standout, power pumps.

I is for Irresistable Intimates
Whenever we need a little pick-me-up, wearing pretty undies always does the trick—even if nobody else sees it but you. We secretly feel a little sexier inside. For lazy days lounging around at home, try wearing a little babydoll—it somehow gives our day more purpose.

J is for Jewel Tones
It’s the trend that will never die: jewels. To be more specific, we’re talking about jewel tones! Add a pop of color to your outfit where it counts—a bright blue headband, a ruby belt, a violet handbag. Don’t be shy and remember, just a little jewel hue goes a long way!

K is for Karats
Ladies, this one’s a no-brainer. No matter how many fashion jewels we pick up, nothing holds quite the tender spot in our hearts as much as our delicate gold and diamonds accents. To experiment with karats this season, try mixing it up with fun earrings. Just let them dangle and sparkle.

L is for Lace and Leather
Britney Spears’ song “Lace and Leather” has come into fruition in the form of fashion for fall. Sport the two trends with success by pairing a lacy dress or top with black leather boots. To add even more edge, throw on a plaid shirt over the look a la Taylor Momsen.

M is for Military Fashion
Iconic military-inspired fashion will also make a comeback. With sharp, strong shoulders and intricate embellishments, a military vest or jacket will take you far this fall. It’ll be the go-to jacket that will spice up average ensembles. It’s best paired with skinny jeans and sky-high heels.

N is for Neon
Let go of the stigma that neon is for storefronts, barber shops and toenails. This season, neon will be on fingernails, shoe straps, belts and—if you’re daring—miniskirts and dresses. Leave black and white behind, the world is more beautiful when it’s in color!

O is for One-Shoulder Dresses

This fall, we’re taking sides—will it be the left shoulder or the right? A flirty, feminine one-shoulder dress is this season’s must-have. Even better, we predict the style will prove to be a good investment because you’ll likely be pulling it out for years to come.

P is for Plaid
Plaid is back after its 10-year sabbatical! FYI, we’re not just talking about your boyfriend’s lumberjack flannel shirts. And, don’t even think about sporting schoolgirl-inspired pleated plaid skirts. We’re talking about chic plaid on dresses, tote bags, and accessories like headbands.

Q is for Quirky Extras
Personally, we’re totally excited about quirky stuff like neon phone cases, funky rings, Hello Kitty accessories (for adults), and statement key chains. It’s all about representing yourself now—and every stylish season, for that matter.

R is for Ruching
Once you’ve found a ruched piece that strikes your fancy, snap it up—you can’t go wrong. The simplicity of the technique makes a world of difference in an outfit. Not only does the trend flatter, you’ll look instantly polished, too!

S is for Studs
Fall’s “it” accessory is studs! You’ll find them on everything from shoes to handbags to clothes. But, don’t spend a fortune if you don’t think you’ll love ‘em forever—they might be out come spring.

T is for Thigh-High Boots
Flirty footwear just became PG for the season—this fall it’s all about thigh-high boots. Our annual boot shopping will be much easier now that we know exactly what kind we want! To tone down the provocative nature of thigh-highs, make sure the rest of your ensemble is chic and classy.

U is for Understated Elegance
We may keep talking about being edgy this season, but we haven’t forgotten our manners! While some days, we’ll want to wear lush neons and studded boots; other days, we just want to feel like a lady. We suggest stocking up on understated, elegant pieces like chiffon blouses and pencil skirts.

V is for Velvet
Who knew velvet could work so well outside of grandma’s closet and Juicy jumpsuits? The sometimes-tacky material is getting an upgrade, being fashioned into tailored jackets and structured dresses. We say hurray—we know we won’t be able to resist stroking the soft material all day.

W is for Working Girl
Never fret, working fashionista, we know that you’re just as stylish even though you can’t don a mini disco dress to the office. Instead, shop your heart out for timeless chic pieces like a boyfriend blazer, which can easily transition from work to play—depending on what you have on underneath.

X is for Xtra Long Cardigans
The easy, versatile piece that you’ll be wearing day in and day out this fall is the long cardigan. Get it in a bold color or pattern if you dare, or pick black or white for routine needs. Rock the long sweater over a statement dress to tone it down, throw it on with big baubles to dress it up, or stash it in your bag in case it gets chilly. So easy!

Y is for Yummy Scents
Don’t forget that smelling incredible is a key staple to your stylish repertoire. Your signature fragrance will only enhance the chic outfit you’re wearing. Instead of smelling overbearing, try something that smells clean and fresh with a hint of flavor. This season’s pieces are statement-y, so you’ll have enough attention on you without smelling over the top.

Z is for Zippers
You’ve always thought that zippers are only for flies, hoodies and bags. Not anymore! Zippers are now adorning dresses, shoes, skirts, even belts—you name it. If the entire zipper pull is a little much for your taste, go for something more subtle—for instance, zig-zag embellishments add just the right amount of edge to something girly.
